The first trailer for Deadpool 2 is here … kind of. To see about 10 seconds of actual footage from Deadpool 2, you’ll have to sit through a committed, two-minute Deadpool-as–Bob Ross skit. What did you expect?
The actual stuff we do see looks like a ton of fun, from Deadpool popping out of a casket at a funeral to Deadpool throwing a chainsaw in the air.

There are very, very brief sightings of new characters, as well: Zazie Beetz’s Domino kicking down a door, and Josh Brolin’s Cable grabbing a weapon with his metal hand (though you don’t see his gnarly, scarred face).
For the most part, however, the teaser is a painstaking, surreal recreation of Bob Ross’s The Joy of Painting, if Ross was constantly professing his love of cocaine and “whacking off” his paint brushes. This unusual teaser comes after the fourth-wall-breaking antihero was a “guest editor” of Good Housekeeping earlier this month.
In other words, it’s par for the course from Deadpool’s marketing team and the movie’s giddy, I-can’t-believe-I’m-getting-away-with-this star, Ryan Reynolds. You will be trolled, and you might not get anything of actual value until your butt’s in the theater come June 1, 2018. If this kind of marketing is your cup of tea, grab the biggest thermos you can find; we’ve got seven more months before Deadpool 2 drops.
