Your Take
What do you think of where we ranked Stephon Castle?
Analysis
By Kirk GoldsberryPreseason question: As he enters year three, there are few questions about Castle’s competitive nature or his defense, but there remain a few big ones about his offense. Last year, he made a leap, particularly as a playmaker and as a shooter; from year one to year two, his assists rose from 4.1 per game to 7.4 per game, and his 3-point accuracy improved from 28.5 percent to 33.2 percent. Both jumps are vital for a player who has a first-team All-NBA ceiling but isn’t there yet. As we saw in last season’s playoffs, his inability to take care of the basketball is a primary concern. Still, if Castle’s level-up in year three is anything like it was in year two, San Antonio will be swooning.
