Jacas is a tough and extremely physical pass rusher who brings an intimidating presence to the defensive line and absolutely clobbers whoever has the ball. A four-year starter at Illinois, he posted excellent production over his final two seasons there, racking up 18 sacks, 26.5 tackles for a loss, and six forced fumbles in that stretch. He brings a strong, thumping punch to the chests of opposing tackles and locks his arms out to set them onto their heels. He employs a devastating bull rush, churning his feet to collapse the pocket and send tackles into the quarterback’s lap. He brings an effective inside counter move, faking outside before juking back inside to shoot through the line. He uses clubs, rips, and swipes to bat away opponents’ block attempts and free himself as a rusher. He has very good closing speed, often overtaking quarterbacks or ballcarriers before they can react. He sets the edge against the run and plays with tremendous strength at the point of attack, bringing top-tier stopping power. He dominates against tight ends who are unlucky enough to try to block him and regularly pushes them back into the rush lane to blow the play up.
Jacas lacks high-level quickness and agility, and he is a relatively heavy-footed rusher who relies more on brute force and core power than pure burst. He’s a little stiff when he looks to turn the corner or pursue outside the pocket. He occasionally gets held up on blocks or struggles to disengage. There are times when he’s too aggressive, tries to shoot gaps, or tries to get around a block and ends up out of position or giving up his gap.
