Pickup truck back with a three-down skill set; he lacks top-end juice but has the wiggle and burst to break tackles and will himself into the end zone.

Coleman personifies the draft phrase “rolling ball of butcher knives.” He’s a squat, well-built back who has a refuse-to-go-down style in both the run and pass games. He transferred to Washington in 2024 after starting his career at Arizona, and he racked up 1,811 yards and 25 touchdowns over two seasons with the Huskies, adding 531 yards and two scores through the air. Coleman’s a quick-footed runner who demonstrates excellent vision between the tackles, letting his blocks set up before cutting downhill. He brings wiggle and burst to cut or strafe around defenders, and he uses his blocks expertly, frequently setting up second-level defenders with a fake one way before cutting the other way to pull away. He runs with good leverage and a low center of gravity, regularly pinballing through traffic while staying on his feet. He can make defenders miss in a phone booth, using quick jukes and hesitation moves to keep defenders off-balance. He has good contact balance, rips through tackle attempts, and creates yards on his own, as both a runner and pass catcher. He’s gritty and strains to keep pushing forward, twisting, turning, and spinning away from contact to pick up extra yards—particularly when he’s within striking distance of the end zone. He has soft hands as a receiver and does his job in pass pro. He’s the type of back a coach should love—a former team captain with zero career fumbles and just one drop.
Coleman is shifty but lacks top-end speed. He’s more of a grind-it-out back than a big-play creator. A PCL injury in 2025 hurt his efficiency down the stretch. His yards per carry (4.6) and yards after contact per carry (3.3) averages dropped last year compared with 2024 (5.6 and 4.39, respectively, per PFF).
