Freeling needs to get a bit stronger and play with more consistent leverage, but he’s an easy-moving athlete on the blindside with the traits to develop into a long-term starter. A one-year starter for Georgia with experience at both tackle spots, he’s tall with a broad-shouldered frame and long arms and moves gracefully out of his stance and into his pass set. He blocks from a balanced base and mirrors easily in pass protection, working his hands to fend off pass-rush moves and keep himself square. He has a strong grip to lock into a defender’s chest and hold them in place. Freeling shows a good feel for helping his teammate when he’s uncovered and quickly pinches down against counters and stunts to avoid letting interior pressure get through. He flashes the athleticism to get a block done even when his feet aren’t perfectly balanced or under him, and allowed three sacks and just nine total pressures on 469 pass blocking snaps in 2025, per PFF. In the run game, Freeling churns his feet to move defenders off the line and shows good strain to sustain blocks and drive opponents far out of their spot. He brings an accurate punch and strong grip in the run game, and understands positioning, marrying his hands and feet to seal opponents from the run lane. He covers ground easily on move blocks and pulls, and moves easily to the second level when climbing.
Freeling’s relatively green, with just 18 college starts on his résumé. His height makes him susceptible to pulls and rips; he stands too tall at times, allowing defenders to send him lunging. He will occasionally drop his eyes and start leaning when he loses a step in pass protection. There are times he comes in too hot for a block at the second level; he needs to be more disciplined in sealing his target away from the play.
