Much like the giant sandworms of Arrakis, Woods possesses incredible power and shocking agility and is attracted to the rhythmic footsteps of a quarterback’s dropback.

Woods is a barrel-chested brawler who creates havoc in the trenches with a combination of explosive burst, tremendous upper-body torque, and intensity-raising energy. A three-year impact player for the Tigers, he lines up at multiple spots on the line and rushes the passer with twitchy lateral burst. He fires out of his stance with good leverage, getting under the pads of opponents. He does a good job of keeping himself clean, striking and locking out his arms to keep opponents from getting into his chest. Woods has strong hands and employs savvy hand strikes and swipes to rip away from opponents’ blocks, frequently leaving defenders lunging. He shows the quickness to shoot gaps and catch offensive linemen off guard, and he plays with his intensity turned up to 11. He stacks defenders against the run and keeps his eyes in the backfield, locating the runner, holding his blocker at bay, and then discarding the block at the right moment to make the play. He shows good closing speed as a pass rusher and in pursuit of the ballcarrier.
Woods saw his production drop in 2025, and his production has never really matched the athletic traits he displays (he notched just 2.0 sacks and 3.5 tackles for a loss in 2025). He lacks top-tier length, and he brings a below-average tackle radius. He occasionally allows himself to be sealed away from the play, and at times, his feet slow down and he gets stalemated when engaged by a blocker. He needs to continue to develop a wider repertoire of pass rush moves.
