The Player
Stone started just two games in his first two seasons at Oklahoma but played all 26, and he broke out in 2025 with 42 tackles and eight tackles for loss.
He locates and tracks the ball well as a run defender and rarely stays blocked thanks to his length and upper-body strength. Stone can lock out with one hand and keep the other free while engaged. He is quick enough to get into gaps, flashes the ability to slip blocks, and makes plays in the backfield. He’s also a strong wrap-up tackler who chases with good effort. Stone is strong enough to frequently get away with playing high, but his pad level causes him to give up ground too often.
His 2.5 sacks in 26 career games don’t reflect his disruption as a pass rusher. Stone made strides as a hand fighter in 2025, using his length and active hands to prevent blockers from locking on to his frame. He can shoot his hands and drive blockers, disengage at the top of his rush, and recognize when the quarterback climbs the pocket without getting caught too far upfield. His average closing speed caps some of his pass rush upside.
Stone has the versatility to play defensive tackle in a base four-man front or align over the offensive tackle’s inside shoulder in a base three-man front.
