The Player
In his third season at South Carolina as a former five-star recruit, Stewart has been a starter throughout his career, totaling 56 tackles, 22.5 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, six forced fumbles, and three passes defended. In 2025, he recorded 33 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, and two pass breakups.
Stewart’s takeoff burst and ability to bend the edge are elite. His hands are just as fast as his feet, and he wins with exceptionally quick swim, swipe, and rip moves that consistently stress offensive tackles. His closing speed also forces quarterbacks to speed up their internal clocks and get rid of the ball early.
His sack production dipped from 6.5 in 2024 to 4.5 in 2025, and while opponents clearly devoted more attention to him, Stewart can still become a better finisher. He occasionally arrives too hot, struggles to come to balance, and misses opportunities when quarterbacks move off their initial spot.
His long, athletic frame is a major asset, but his power base remains a work in progress. Offensive tackles can neutralize him when they get squarely into his pads. Even so, Stewart’s torso flexibility allows him to continue advancing the rush while engaged, especially when he attacks half a man.
Against the run, Stewart still needs to add strength, but he controls tight ends, sets a firm edge in those matchups, penetrates frequently, and shows excellent backside pursuit range. He also offers real versatility, with dynamic change-of-direction ability on line games and surprising effectiveness dropping into underneath zones.
