The Player
Lacy is an instinctive inside runner who reads the field well, hugs his blocks, and doesn’t need much of a seam. His feet are outstanding and never stop moving. He presses the line of scrimmage, gets linebackers to commit, and sifts through traffic, making defenders miss without sacrificing much forward momentum.
His burst stands out on tape. Lacy looks like he’s been shot out of a cannon when he finds a seam between the tackles and has the acceleration to turn the corner on perimeter runs. He may not have elite timed speed, but he plays fast and has shown the ability to pull away when he gets a crease.
Lacy is difficult to square up and combines elusiveness with excellent contact balance. He’s an ultracompetitive runner with explosive power, though he lacks size and may not have the raw strength of a true power back. Lacy fumbled three times (losing one) on 306 carries in 2025, but ball security doesn’t appear overly concerning on tape.
He had too many focus drops in 2025, but he flashes a natural pass catching ability, is dangerous in open space, and has the skill set to develop as a route runner. In pass protection, he steps up, meets defenders, and competes, but he needs to improve his technique and strength to consistently hold up against the rush at the next level.
After transferring from Missouri following his freshman season, Lacy earned second-team All-America and first-team All-SEC honors in 2025. He set Ole Miss single-season records that year with 1,567 rushing yards and 24 rushing touchdowns. His combination of instincts, outstanding feet, burst, balance, and competitiveness makes him one of the most dynamic backs in college football.
