The Player
Goosby is a big, powerful tackle who has held his own against NFL-caliber edge rushers. He’s strong enough to absorb power rushers despite setting high. He gets good depth in his sets and uses his length to push speed rushers past the quarterback.
He can have problems getting to his third step when kicking out to meet speed, but he flashes the ability to rewrap when he misses his initial punch, and he can latch on when he gets his hands inside. His height and higher center of gravity can create issues against power defensive ends with good size, and he can get grabby and hold when he starts to lose.
Goosby is a strong run blocker who can cover and move edge defenders off the line. He gets depth with his first step in zone, reaches front-side defenders, and cuts off backside linebackers. He’s not a great athlete in space, but he stays on track to the second level, engulfs linebackers, and knocks defenders off course with a strong punch. He’s not a glass eater, but there’s an edge to his game, and he can block multiple defenders on the same play.
His recognition and ability to stay on level against line stunts could improve. Goosby also lacks an elite ability to change directions, which can show up when he’s forced to redirect in pass protection.
After starting two of 15 games in 2024, Goosby started 13 games at left tackle in 2025.
