The Takeaway
The Player
Pregnon is a four-year college starter with NFL measurables and the tape to warrant an early-round selection. He’s a strong drive blocker who plays with a wide base, works his hands inside, and is not satisfied with simply walling off defenders once in position. Rather, he moves his feet and is strong enough to move defenders off the ball. He posted an outstanding broad jump (9 feet, 3 inches) for his position, which speaks to his lower-body explosiveness.
He’s effective working up to the second level on combination blocks. He doesn’t release early and can drive opposing defensive linemen into linebackers. He possesses a powerful punch that he uses to knock defensive linemen inside and keep them off balance. He tracks linebackers well, too. He fits best in a man/gap scheme, but he takes sound angles and stays connected as a zone blocker. He moves well when he pulls and kicks out.
His massive hands and long arms allow him to latch on and lock out defenders as a pass blocker. He rewraps his hands and digs in against power rushers and mirrors well enough to push pass rushers inside when they try to cross his face. He can get top-heavy and lose late as a run blocker and pass blocker. He doesn’t read and react to late movement well enough in the run game. As a pass blocker, he picked up most of the line stunts he faced in the tape we watched, but he had some problems with Texas Tech’s movement in the College Football Playoff.
He spent one season at Wyoming and two seasons at USC before transferring to Oregon in 2025, starting 39 games at left guard and 12 games at right guard in his college career. He was named Associated Press first-team All-America and first-team All-Big Ten in 2025.
The Draft
Pregnon is one of the top-five offensive guard prospects in this class and he could get drafted in the top 50. An Oregon offensive lineman has been drafted in the top 50 picks in each of the past two drafts and three of the past five drafts.
The Projection
Pregnon may never develop into an All-Pro-caliber player, but he could start as a rookie and play at a high level for years. He has a similar frame as 2025 third-round pick Dylan Fairchild, who started 15 games for the Bengals and showed promise last year. But Pregnon arguably has more upside.
