The Takeaway
The Player
Proctor has a unique blend of size (6-foot-7 and 352 pounds) and athletic ability. At the combine, he posted the best vertical jump (32 1/2 inches) by a player weighing at least 350 pounds since at least 2003 by 2 inches. He’s a powerful run blocker who can latch, lift, and drive edge defenders. He walls off defenders when he doesn’t get push. He moves well enough to be effective in the zone run game. He has the range to reach linebackers and get out in front when he pulls and can overwhelm defenders in space. A true junior and three-year starter at left tackle at Alabama, Proctor was named the corecipient of the Jacobs Blocking Trophy, presented to the SEC’s top offensive lineman, and earned first-team All-SEC honors in 2025.
Proctor leans and falls off blocks. Edge defenders can get into his frame when he plays high. Defensive tackles have some success getting under him when he blocks down. He has the frame and agility to develop as a pass blocker at the NFL level, and it all comes together on tape at times, but his technique is far too inconsistent, especially for a three-year starter. Proctor gets beaten to the inside far too often. He doesn’t snatch defenders with his inside hand, and he doesn’t move his feet well enough. He gets into trouble when his feet get too close together or cross over, and he doesn’t win with his hands. He can get knocked off-balance even though he has outstanding size and strength.
He carried the ball five times in 2025, and Alabama’s willingness to give him the ball speaks to his athletic ability.
The Draft
Proctor’s tape is underwhelming. But he has experience as a three-year starter in the SEC and possesses rare tools. Plus, there are flashes on his tape, and this offensive tackle class may be the weakest one since 2015. He could be a top-35 pick with that in mind.
The Projection
There aren’t many human beings of Proctor’s size and athletic ability who have played tackle in the NFL. Trent Brown (6 feet, 8 1/2 inches and 355 pounds) is one of the few. After getting drafted by the 49ers in the seventh round in 2015, Brown has been uneven, but he’s started 103 games, and he won a Super Bowl with New England in 2018.
