The Takeaway
The Player
Iheanachor is an improving tackle prospect with excellent size, length, and agility. He was born in Nigeria and moved to the United States when he was 13. He played soccer and basketball growing up and didn’t play in a football game until his second year at East Los Angeles College, where he played both tackle positions. He transferred to Arizona State in 2023 and started five games that season due to injuries elsewhere on Arizona State’s roster. He started at right tackle the past two seasons and developed into an All-Big 12 tackle in 2025.
Iheanachor is smooth and hits his landmarks getting out of stance as a pass blocker. He needs to improve his hand placement and the timing of his punch, but he can knock pass rushers off track when he lands it. He doesn’t have to win with his hands to anchor when he squares up and keeps his cleats on the ground. He moves his feet once he’s in position and can get some movement in the run game. He flashes on zone runs and he has the footspeed and quickness to develop further.
He’s more developed as a pass blocker than run blocker at this point. He ducks his head and lunges at defenders. He falls off blocks. He needs to do a better job of latching on and keeping his hips under him. He can miss some line stunts, but he also passes off defenders picking up stunts. He can bury his head and lose track of linebackers when combination blocking to the second level, but he can also work his track and adjust to post-snap movement as a zone blocker.
He’s an aggressive and violent blocker in space. He plays with an edge, and had an impressive showing at the Senior Bowl, where he didn’t back down when defenders challenged him.
The Draft
Iheanachor developed into an all-conference offensive tackle at Arizona State, had an excellent week of practice at the Senior Bowl, and has a high ceiling. He has the makings of a potential top-50 pick.
The Projection
Iheanachor compares favorably to 2022 sixth overall pick Ikem Ekwonu. Both are excellent athletes with violent playing styles, and they weren’t finished products coming out of college.
