The Takeaway
The Player
Height is a well-traveled, late-blooming edge who peaked in his final season at Texas Tech (10 sacks) after stops at Auburn, USC, and Georgia Tech. At nearly 25 years old and with a lean, undersized frame, he projects as a specialized pass rush option rather than a full-time defensive end.
His game is built on elite flexibility and movement skills. Height’s defining trait is his “Gumby-like” bend—he can dip, corner, and redirect with ease, making him a slippery, hard-to-contain rusher. He pairs that with strong straight-line speed (4.64 40) and explosion, allowing him to threaten the edge and chase plays down from the backside. His pass rush production and win rate reflect real effectiveness, even compared with top prospects.
However, his limitations are clear. His lack of size and strength makes him vulnerable to being knocked off course, especially when attempting inside counters, and he struggles badly when engaged by tackles. Against the run, he offers range and effort in pursuit but cannot reliably set the edge or hold up at the point of attack.
The Draft
Height hovers around 15th in our edge rankings, but he still carries a grade equivalent to that of a top-100 pick, which speaks to the potentially historic depth of this class.
The Projection
The best-case outlook for Height is that he emerges as a 20-25-snap-per-game edge who winds up outplaying his draft slot as a high-end subpackage weapon. He’s a high-motor, high-flexibility pass rush specialist with real third-down value, but his age, frame, and run-defense limitations cap his role as a situational defender at the next level. Josh Uche (Dolphins) is a great comp. Both guys were late-college career breakout players and undersized but dynamic pass rushers who are very limited in run defense.
