The Takeaway
The Player
Davis is a tall press corner with outstanding length and good top-end speed, and he tied for the fifth-fastest 40-yard dash time among all corners at the combine. He can flip his hips and run with receivers. He doesn’t always shoot the correct hand, but he can get his hands on receivers and reroute them at the line of scrimmage. He reads receivers, gets his eyes on the quarterback, limits production after the catch, and shows a good feel for route combinations in zone looks.
He can reach in and break up passes from a trailing position and win in 50-50 and jump ball situations. (He finished second in the Pac-12 with 15 passes defended in 2023.) He’s not a ball hawk and drops some passes, but he has a wide catch radius and can pluck passes out of the air. He has a tendency to hold when he doesn’t have to, and he was penalized six times in seven games in 2025, according to PFF. He moves well for his size, but he’s a taller corner who struggles to keep his hips down, and he’s faster than he is quick, so he gives up separation at the top of routes. He flashes an impressive punch and gets off blocks. He’s a reliable tackler whose length allows him to cast a wide net.
He played for Arizona for three seasons and transferred to Washington in 2025. He missed five games due to an injury last season.
The Draft
Davis may not have the tape of a top-100 prospect, but he certainly has the tools to be one. He was one of two Washington cornerbacks (the other being Ephesians Prysock) to be invited to the combine. Two Washington defensive backs have been selected in four of the last eight drafts.
The Projection
Davis is talented enough to develop into a starter in a press-zone scheme. He and 2022 fifth-round pick Tariq Woolen are both 6-foot-4 corners with long arms who run well. Woolen has been inconsistent, but he’s also started 53 games in his first four seasons.
