The Takeaway

The Player

Green is a rare, high-ceiling quarterback prospect defined by unprecedented athleticism and extensive college experience. In productive starting stints at Boise State and Arkansas, he totaled more than 9,600 passing yards with a modest TD-to-INT ratio and elite rushing production (2,403 yards, 35 touchdowns). His physical profile is essentially unmatched—combining near–Anthony Richardson–level size with even better speed and explosiveness—making him a true outlier at the position.

He resembles Colin Kaepernick in his build, running ability, and unorthodox delivery, but he has superior raw athletic traits and more high-level college game experience. As a passer, he has shown tangible growth, particularly in his short to intermediate accuracy and touch, and he impressed evaluators with improved mechanics, footwork, and discipline during Senior Bowl practices in a pro-style system.

He’s not just an athlete playing quarterback—he flashes legitimate pocket presence, patience, and toughness, along with an advanced feel relative to most dual-threat prospects. However, his development is incomplete. His processing speed, pre-snap recognition, and overall command of defensive structures remain raw, and his accuracy is inconsistent due largely to unrefined footwork and a lack of coordination between his eyes and base.

The Draft

Of all the quarterbacks in the 2026 class, Green’s potential draft range might be the largest. Round 1 is highly unlikely, but all it takes is one team with a belief and vision (Lamar Jackson and Tim Tebow come to mind—both positively and negatively). The most likely scenario is day two. If our sources are correct, the least likely scenario is that he lasts until day three.

The Projection

Green’s accuracy issues are salvageable with footwork refinement that he’s clearly capable of. More than anything, he needs to land with someone who knows how to overhaul his mental process (line-of-scrimmage conviction, pre- and post-snap indicators, scheduling, eye discipline, understanding of coverage assignments, etc.). And that someone needs to provide the luxury of development time. That’s hard to find in this league, but not impossible. Reid, Shanahan, McVay, O’Connell, and Harbaugh/McDaniel are some of the names that immediately come to mind. If Green lands in the right circumstance, he has a chance to be special.
