The Takeaway

The Player

Pride is on the smaller side and showed off his speed at the combine by delivering the fastest 40 time among corners and tying for the quickest 10-yard split. However, the tape doesn’t match the talent. He closes quickly, can jump in front of receivers, and can break up passes when he’s decisive. He can run with and work under receivers on crossing routes. He’s a physical player for his size and can make it difficult for receivers to get off the line in press. He can turn to locate the ball when he’s in phase, though he is a little inconsistent in this area. He sorts out route combinations in zone looks. He’s a natural hands catcher when he’s facing the quarterback, and he picked off four passes over the past two seasons.

He can be beaten downfield despite his outstanding speed. He doesn’t run or recover quite as well on tape as his testing numbers indicate. He competes and pushes receivers out before they can get their feet down, but he’s a smaller corner with below-average length and can lose 50-50 balls. He doesn’t always use the correct hand to reroute receivers and can lose at the line of scrimmage in press coverage.

He’s an aggressive and tough run defender who doesn’t shy away from contact and closes well. He missed just two tackles in 2025 and flashes good stopping power for his size. He can get stuck on blocks and made a total of just 41 tackles over the past two seasons. He played 139 snaps over the slot, where he may fit best in the NFL, but he predominantly played wide corner over the course of his career, according to PFF. He started 20 games in college, spending his first two seasons at Clemson before transferring to Missouri in 2024. He also covered kickoffs and punts.

The Draft

Pride is a top-20 cornerback and a mid-round prospect. Five corners have run the 40 in 4.32 seconds or less over the past three combines. Four were drafted in the top 100, and the fifth, Jakorian Bennett, was taken by the Raiders at no. 104 in 2023.

The Projection

Pride has tantalizing talent, but he may need some time to develop. Teams will have to figure out whether he fits better on the outside or the inside. Orlando Scandrick, a 2008 fifth-round pick, is an interesting comp considering their similar frames and speed.
