Williams is a shifty, do-it-all playmaker out of the slot who plays bigger and tougher than his listed size. A four-year starter for the Tigers, he racked up 208 catches, 2,336 yards, and 23 touchdowns in his career at Clemson. He’s an agile and quick-footed route runner with good body control that allows him to change direction on a dime and separate underneath. He has very good acceleration and burst and transitions from catch to run smoothly and without having to gather his feet or gear down. He’s a yards-after-the-catch creator who beats pursuit angles in the open field. Williams has good feel against zone coverage looks, settling into soft spots between defenders, and he does well in working back to his quarterback on scramble drill plays. He tracks the ball naturally on vertical routes and doesn’t fight the ball at the catch point. He has super-reliable, soft hands, with just one drop recorded in 2025. He shows toughness when securing the ball in traffic and plucking it away from his frame. He’s aware of the sideline and gets his feet down inbounds. He puts in effort as a blocker, finding his target to seal them off. He’s a versatile football player who threw for a pair of touchdowns in college and brings punt and kick return experience.
Williams lacks length and is unlikely to be viewed as a true no. 1 receiver at the next level. He doesn’t have a ton of experience running routes on the outside, with 93 percent of his routes coming from the slot in 2025 (and 78 percent over his career). And his big-play production wasn’t there last year, with an average depth of target of just 7.7 yards and just five receptions over 20 yards, per PFF.
