Brazzell is a big-play X receiver with a tall, long-levered frame and impressive foot quickness as a route runner. The son of former NFL/CFL receiver Chris Brazzell, he was a transfer to Tennessee in 2024 after playing two seasons at Tulane. He finished strong for the Volunteers in 2025, racking up 62 receptions for 1,017 yards and nine touchdowns in 12 games and averaging 16.4 yards per catch. Brazzell brings the type of quickness and body control you wouldn’t expect from a receiver of his height. He uses savvy footwork to escape the line of scrimmage and get open early in his route. He gets in and out of his breaks smoothly, showing the ability to create separation and get corners turned around in his routes. He’s really effective on in-breaking routes and can drop his hips and decelerate on a dime, excelling at comebacks, outs, and hook routes. He utilizes shoulder shimmies and jabs to get corners to open their hips before cutting the opposite way. He stacks opposing corners and then leaves them in the dust on vertical routes, showing build-up speed to attack deep. He racked up 13 receptions of 20-plus yards (tied for sixth most) last year, with 509 yards (sixth) and six touchdowns on those plays (tied for third), per PFF. Brazzell shows a natural feel for tracking the football. He flashes the body control to jump, spin, catch the ball, and keep on running. He brings a big catch radius and shows the ability to go up high and snag off-target throws. He showed reliable hands last year, with just two drops.
Brazzell’s effort wanes when he knows the ball isn’t coming his way, and he regularly jogs on the backside of plays. He played primarily on the right side of the formation for Tennessee after lining up all over the formation at Tulane. He’s not much of a yards-after-the-catch creator.
