Crawford is an explosive, agile pass rusher who brings the heat off the edge using first-step burst and a bevy of pass rush moves. A transfer to Auburn after two seasons at Arkansas State, he’s a one-year starter who tallied five sacks and 9.5 tackles for a loss for the Tigers in 2025, adding 43 pressures and 22 stops, according to PFF. He’s a smooth yet twitchy mover with nimble feet and good balance, bringing an explosive first step and effective Euro-step move to quickly beat blocks and get to the edge. He works his hands and feet together, chopping away at blocks while bounding to the outside. He shows a good inside counter move to shoot through the gap when an offensive tackle oversets. He swats away block attempts and swims over lunging offensive linemen, and uses a spin move to leave linemen grasping at the air. He can convert speed to power, using his first step to get his opponent off-balance before changing direction to go right through him. He flashed body control and fluidity to drop back into space. In the run game, he works hard to stack and shed blocks. He plays with physicality and a strong punch to hold his ground, locking out his arms to keep opponents from controlling him at the point of attack. He keeps working to stay clean against runs in his direction, using his hands to disengage and hold his gap. He sticks with the play and chases ballcarriers down from the backside. He’s aggressive defending option plays, frequently blowing up the mesh point or forcing quick decisions.
Crawford is a bit underpowered on the edge, and there are times he comes in too high and takes the brunt of blocks, especially against double-teams. He can be moved off his spot or washed out of the play. He needs to be more consistent in run pursuit, too often allowing cutbacks or failing to wrap up. There are times his aggressive style works against him. He will attack blocks but then loses track of the runner.
