Branch is a souped-up playmaker with rare speed, burst, and maneuverability in space. He expertly weaves through defenses, sparking the afterburners to run away from defenders or hitting the brakes to let them fly right by. A former five-star prospect and no. 1 wide receiver recruit (per 247Sports), he played two seasons at USC before transferring to Georgia in 2025, where he reeled in an SEC-best 81 receptions for 811 yards and six touchdowns. Branch is short but solidly built, and he explodes off the line and into his route. He brings rare acceleration and top-end speed to take any catch to the house, and opposing defenses must account for him at all times. He was used primarily on short and intermediate routes for the Bulldogs, and touches were frequently schemed up for him; his wiggle and burst came into play to help him elude the first defender and destroy pursuit angles. He averaged 8.0 yards after the catch per reception in college, and 78 percent of his career yardage came after the catch, per PFF (1,275 of 1,634 yards). He flashes more than just gadget-type utility, though, and he had success when given opportunities to run vertical routes. He caught a team-high five catches of 20-plus yards last year (on eight targets) and showed the ability to track the ball and play strong at the catch point, going up high to reel it in while taking a hit. He offers special teams value as well; he was one of the best returners in the Pac-12 as a freshman, averaging 20.8 yards per punt return, with one score, and he also returned a kickoff for a score.
Branch is short and lacks length. That shows up at the catch point, where he’s inconsistent securing the ball in traffic. In college, he played the vast majority of his snaps from the slot and was primarily a gadget-type player for the Bulldogs, with an average depth of target of just 3.6 yards (his career average depth of target is just 5.2 yards). He relies on pure speed more than nuance as a route runner, too often rounding off his routes. He’ll have to prove that he can operate deeper down the field and run a wider route tree to establish himself as a legitimate receiving option in the pros.
